raincoast creative is an evolving project by alex hughes
alex grew up in and around vancouver and the sunshine coast, canada. after spending some time across the country and across the world for school, alex returned home to the pacific northwest - she missed the ocean and the forests and the mountains. she even missed the rain.
alex is a lawyer by day (and sometimes night), but growing up she wanted to be an artist. these days, she continues to flex her artistic muscle through photography, paint, crochet, and anything else that piques her interest.
alex draws artistic inspiration from a wide range of sources, including nature, surrealist and post-modern artistic movements, scandinavian design, and traditional and modern northwest coast indigenous art. she loves playing with colours, textures, and shapes to create something new.
